When you say you have an avi file, you might say where that file is located. I made an assumption that it possibly could be on your camcorder. But I guess you already had the avi file on your computer. If that is the case, then you can forget the information I suggested about the camcorder and getting it on your computer. Please excuse my reading between the lines. :) The other information I suggested should still be valid however as far as editing it in Videowave.

There's a few ways to do it. The first step is to add the file to a Videowave project to do your editing. There is some helpful info in this post in the Tips and Tricks section of the boards for doing this.

Once you're done editing it, either output it to dvd compliant mpeg file that you can add to MyDVD to do your aughoring, or just add the Videowave project in MyDVD as a movie on the menu.

If this is a video from your camcorder, then use a firewire (IEEE1394) cable from the camcorder to your computer. Then open up EMC 9 and go to "VIDEO" options on the left side of the screen, then to "Capture Video" on the right side of the screen. when the next screen opens, click on the "Video" (Tab). Just underneith that your camcorder should be recognized. Start your capture and save it as an "avi" file.

Once you have captured the video, open up Videowave and on the "Timeline" view, add your avi video file. From there you can edit it and after you have finished adding anything else you want to add (Photos, transitions, text, colored text slides, overlays etc.) save the production as a "dmsm" file. Then if you want to make a DVD open up "MyDVD" program and add the dmsm file. Preview and/or add what ever you want there and then burn to a DVD.

Also, on the left side of the screen under the "Video" options there is another choice you can click on that says "Edit Video with Videowave".
