Question

i have been getting blank spots when i record dvds,i checked over video that i was burning to dvd,i went online and updated firmware for my plextor.roxio feels anti-virus and firewall software could be causing conflict.should i disable these two things before i try to format and burn dvds.

windows vista home premium

2gbs

macafee security suite for verizon/msn dsl :blink:

Before rendering try the following, bearing in mind that rendering is a very CPU intensive process

 

Do a malware/spyware sweep (don't confuse this with anti-virus - different thing)

Defrag the drive

shut down any background apps - the firewall should be OK, but the a/v and any other apps such as IMs and so on should be closed.

 

Render to the hard drive first (save it as a .iso image) and then use that to write the DVD

i disabled all start-up programs,when i make videos ,i use either windows moviemaker or roxio,then save to computer,i go from making videos in roxio to burning them onto dvd with a plextor dvd burner.i did the spyware scan nothing found,will these things help.
