Removal tool needed.

Blaze

Question

I know I should have known better but Roxio's Customer Care rep sent me a link to download the latest rev of v.9.1 so I thought I'd try it to see if the issues are resolved yet. Nope. Completely new system now as well. Gave my wife the state-of-the-art MSI K9A Platinum motherboard which simply has some of the best features I've ever used. Now I'm running an Asus M2N-E, AMD x2 4600+, 3GB of DDR-II and an Asus/Nvidia 8500GT with all the latest drivers and a clean install of Vista Business 32 bit. No AV installed and no other burning softwares. And .....

.

.

.................. IT'S EVEN WORSE NOW THAN IT WAS BEFORE !

Is there a removal tool for that can scrub v.9.x out of my system completely ? I'd really rather not have to reinstall the OS ONE MORE TIME !

I agree that a uninstall procedure should be provided ASAP. In fact, no product should ever be shipped without a usable uninstall function. The procedures documented in these forums are much too complex and onerous for most purchasers of EMC.

Providing this would be a significant benefit to Roxio as well. Their tech support reps can never be sure that the current procedures will be correctly followed when instructing users to uninstall.

One thing I've done in the past is to uninstall the application and run a System Restore. Evidently the installation of v.9.1 doesn't register with Vista as there was no restore point generated.

Kinda late for any advise but I usually manually create a restore point prior to any software install or update. There have been plenty of times that I was glad that I did.

Normally you shouldn't have to create a restore point manually as the installation of any software or driver (especially on Vista) should trigger the creation process. Of course as Paul says "Past performance is no indication of future results".

Anyway, are there other registry keys I should remove prior to trying to reinstall the application ?
