Help...stressin here! Please help with DVD conversion

videochick

Question

I must have 1000 in software and cannot locate one that can convert a MPEG to DVD. I could do a VCD but it is just not as good of quality. I am leaving tomorrow for a friends 50th bday party and I'm stressing...a lot of people are depending on me. Does anyone know of any FREE software for converting...and that converts the whole file. Most of the downloads I am getting are half conversions...not good. I am about to buy a laptop...but until then want to hang tight on new software...as I might be HAVING to go Vista.

I have Videowave IIIe and 7// But cannot figute it out . It keeps saving as a MPEG to DVD...but not DVD format. Also Nero Vision Express....without the plug in..for DVD and a few others.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?????????

Thanks in advance :(:(:(:(

I'm confused. Do you have EMC9? If so, have you tried importing your mpeg file into MyDVD? The only reason you would not be able to use anything other than the VCD format would be if you could not activate EMC9 to use with mpeg files. If that's not a problem, MyDVD will do what you want very easily.

Videowave only outputs the project to MPEG 2 which is DVD compliant. You then need a DVD authoring application that creates the menus and burns to a blank disc. Videowave 7 can do the first half of the job. Do you have DVD Builder 7? That is the authoring application.

In the future, make sure you post in the correct forum. This one is for Easy Media Creator 9.

I do have DVD Builder 7. But not sure where to go from there. I JUST got into this Video Production deal recently...as everyone is turning the big * ) lately and I am too nice to say no to such a BIG job of placing photos to music.

Any suggestions on how to get where I need to be...I tried for about an hour with DVD builder and gave up

Running 7.0.397.0 ENU Version right now

The Videowave standalone product may not have the ability to burn DVD's, altho I'm not positive of that. I seem to remember something along those lines from before.

What OS are you using, XP, Win2000?

Do you have IE 7 installed by chance? If you do, uninstall it thru add/remove programs. then do a Repair thru Add/Remove programs for Videowave 7.

You do have a DVD burner, correct? If not, it's not going to matter. If all you have is a CD burner, all you cam make are VCD's. for now I'll assume you do have a DVD burner.

Open up DVD Builder, then go to File -> Change Project Type and see if you can select DVD instead of VCD.

If you can't change it, you can try downloading the update for Videowave 7. Not sure if it will help or not.

If none of that allows you to set your project to DVD, then My next suggestion would be to check out the Trial version download of EMC 9, which includes MyDVD which should allow you to burn a DVD project. You would just need to make sure you r system meets the minimum requirements. If you do decide to try this, then you'll want to output your Videowave project (in version 7) to a MPEG2 file (DVD Best Quality). Then you can use that file in the version 9 MyDVD for authoring.
