Unsure if your firmware or drivers are up to date?

smonteijr

Question

One of the biggest pests is not having the most current driver or firmware installed. I am starting this thread to assist those who are having trouble in this area. Please make an honest attempt to complete step a before going to to step b.

a. Driver issues are related to mobo drivers, video card drivers, audio card drivers, and video capture device drivers. Firmware issues are are related to your cd and dvd drives. If your system was built by Dell, HP, or similar, current drivers and firmware will be found on their website. To find drivers and firmware updates, you need to know at a minimum the maker and model number. Other information such as part number will assist in your search. You can either find the drivers/firmware by going to the manufacturers website, or by doing a search.

b. If you are unable to complete step a, please make a request in this thread and someone will gladly help out. While an effort is made to assist you as quickly as possible, please remember we are users just like you trying to help you out.
