Magnificent slideshow--GONE!

NRV

Question

Arghhh! I worked hours and hours on a slideshow with EMC 9, and had over 100 photos, each carefully edited and each one labeled with fancy font. I could not figure out how to save specifically, so I knew I might be taking a chance. Sure enough, I gave my Norton permission to run its usual Friday night scan in the background, so don't know if that had anything to do with it, but about ten minutes later, the slideshow program totally hung up. I waited more than half an hour before giving up and closing out my computer for the night. I tried Roxio retrieve, and tried Windows search for all files I used yesterday, etc. etc., but can't find the file anywhere, or if it's there I don't recognize it and can't open it. Is it lost forever? Is there no hope for retrieving my masterpiece?

I did the work from my Sony Vaio laptop VGN-SZ220, 1 GB RAM, 1.8, w/Windows XP Home Edition.

In VideoWave, click on File/Save As, browse to the folder where you want to save your production, give it a name that you want, and save it.

Anytime you are working on a production, you shouldn't have your virus software running a check. Also, don't use the Assistant to make your slide show. There are some known limitations/problems.

Use VideoWave.

Thanks for the tip--I appreciate it. I think it would behoove me to read directions and these discussions topics BEFORE the next attempt!

You are welcome. Many times, I will save my production under two different names, so if something goes awry, while I am working on a production, I can revert back to the 2nd named one, and all I have lost is what I did since the last time I worked on the production.
