I am trying to record music from my tapes, which play nicely through my stereo system.
I have connected an RCA red / white from my tape out on the receiver to my sound chip's "line in".
In "Sound Editor":
Capture From: SoundMax HD Audio
Input: Line In
Recording level is set to "auto". I have also tried it at the maximum [ far right ].
I know that some audio is recorded, because I can hear it when I play it back, using Windows Media Player 11, through speakers which are connected to the "speaker out" on the sound chip.
1. How can I increase the volume of that which I am trying to record?
2. I would like to record the music as individual songs / tracks. Presently, a single audio.wav file is created.
3. Is it possible to listen to the music while it is being recorded? If so, what do I need to do?
I have a strong knowledge of general computing, but this project is unfamiliar territory for me.
