James Drake
Hi, I am using Toast to burn an Audio CD. I have all the boxes filled in for CD Text. After I've burned the CD I check it in Plextools on my PC. DISC ARTIST, DISC TITLE and TRACK TITLE are all OK. But TRACK ARTIST is not written properly, it shows a small square. Anyone else with this problem?
freshburn
Toast burns the CD-TEXT correctly. PlexTools doesn't read it correctly it seems. If the Disc Artist and Track Artist are the same for all tracks, Toast will use a repeat character as specified in the CD-TEXT spec. Because CD-TEXT is limited to 5000 characters total, using the repeat allows more text to be used by saving space for repeated text. PlexTools is not handling the CD-TEXT correctly and obviously is not supporting the repeat character.
James Drake
Is the CD Text spec case sensitive? Could I put Disc Artist in all caps and Track Artist in lowercase to force Toast not to use this repeat thingy?
freshburn
I'm not sure if it is Case Sensitive or not. However, if every track has the same artist, I believe it will still use the repeat for the artist. If you get info on the burned CD in Toast, you will see the CD-TEXT correctly.
