Record 2 CDs on DVD

wmeckle

Question

Hi gang:

Am trying to record 2 CDs on a DVD disc, so it will play on a DVD/CD player (Denon 2910).

I have RecordNow9, Music Lab Premier, and the ad says I can do this ?

I do NOT want any compression (MP3), but lossess copies.

I need explicit, step by step instructions. Thank you. Please reply to:

Neither of my DVD players are connected to a TV, I use them for multi-channel audio only.

I also have a DVD player without an internal screen and not connected to a TV so I can't see the menu. I have mine connected to a stereo system. I like the idea of putting in a disc and then listening for hours without touching the player.

Just like you, I just played with the DVD player until I found out how to play the first chapter (CD), skip to the next tract, and to go the next chapter. I had the advantage of knowing that there was a menu that I had to address. :P If you just want the disc to self play, don't use chapter menus; just a long play list. With only 2 CD worth of music, all you have to do is to skip to the song you want. If you get close to 50 hours on a disc, menus are important. ;)

Do you get the menu and when you make a selection, does it play. Please don't try to complicate things. If it plays on your computer and not on your player, there are several possibilities from bad burns to bad discs etc.

Hi Steve:

I found the problem ! There is a menu where a choice must be made to play the tracks.

Neither of my DVD players are connected to a TV, I use them for multi-channel audio only.

I tried the recorded disc on another player that is connected to a TV and after choosing "PLAY ALL" from the menu, got all the audio I recorded.

To play on my two "audio" dvd players, I must press the "down" key on the remote three times, then push enter, now they work fine too.

There is NOTHING in the help menu, nor did support mention that you must choose from a menu.

Naturally I have no way of knowing this because of no connection of a display to my two DVD players.

Thanks for your help.

Music Disk Creator has a preview button and instructions for using it are found in Help. The reason you must select down three times is because you have three menus to choose from.

To create a DVD music disk, first start Music Disk Creator. It will start in the Audio CD menu during the first use, but will resort to the last menu used afterwards.

Select DVD music disk. Your screen will now appear as below. Add tracks and album art, change menu artwork and text, etc. When you are done making the changse, Preview your disk. In your case, uncheck all menus. When you insert the DVD into a DVD player, press the Play button.

It won't play on a CD player because it is a DVD. It should play on the DVD player. When you put it into the player, do you get a menu or a error. If you put it in your computer, can you auto-play and see the images and hear the music even though it is distorted? What are you using to play it? WMP or similar?

When I try to play the disc in the Denon 2910, "PLAY" is on the display, but no menu, and will not play, the same on the Philips 963SA, except the display says "INFO".

I can hear the music on the computer (but distorted) using WMP, Power DVD, and others. There are no images recorded on the disc except for the menu from RecordNow 9.

What are you using for blank discs? Get a copy of DVD Info Pro (free) and see if there are any burn errors on the disc. Sometimes the distorted audio is due to your sound card/chip. What do you have? Try updating the drivers and reducing the acceleration. I assume the audio from those CDs is OK. How did you get them on your computer?

Am using HP dvd+r 16X blanks, The burner is an HP dvd420i and the sound card an M-Audio. I recorded the discs on the computer (Penium lV) from commerical CDs that I purchased.

My goal: I have a 2 disc CD album of a group that I'd like to put both CDs on an audio only DVD, that will play on a set top box DVD player. It was my understanding that RecordNow 9 Lab would do this ?

Your path may be different but CD gave you the right Application:

Hi Sknis:

Tried your advise and got this when I open the burned DVD:

AUDIO_TS

VIDEO_TS

VIDEO_TS.BUP

VIDEO_TS.IFO

VIDEO_TS.VOB

VTS_01_0.BUP

VTS_01_0.IFO

VTS_01_0.VOB

VTS_01_1.VOB

Clicking on the last one above will play on the computer (although very distorted), but nowhere else (Denon & Philips DVD players and a Technics CD player).

Any thoughts or ideas ?

Were you able to get that M-audio sound card to work? Most people can't since it does only professional 24-bit/96kHz mic/line recording. This program will not handle that. Many other audio cards will do both 16 and 24 bit. 16 bit works. For instance, 24-bit Analog-to-Digital conversion during recording in 8, 16 or 24-bit at sampling rates of 8, 11.025, 16, 22.05, 24, 32, 44.1, 48 and 96kHz. If you are having audio problems, that's the problem.

You can make a music DVD. Since the music DVD is essentially a slide show with a lot of audio, you cannot just have audio. You must have Video even if it is a black panel but of course, you would not be able to navigate the menu without some visual aspects.

What are you having trouble with? Don't worry about the files that are on the DVD. Everything that is on the DVD must be there. What happens when you put the DVD into the player? What happens if you put the disc in your computer, right click the disc it in My Computer and select WMP or other video player?

Do you get the menu and when you make a selection, does it play. Please don't try to complicate things. If it plays on your computer and not on your player, there are several possibilities from bad burns to bad discs etc.
