xingtone ringtone need to purchase

Penz2007

Question

So far have found a few posts and hoping someone has new info. I purchased Roxio Creator 9 earlier today. Attempted to create ringtones and after entering service, phone # and email info am informed that xingtone install is invalid and I need to purchase a serial #. Is this truly the case? Is Roxio false advertising?

I'm not sure if this helps sooth your troubled minds, but this is what I did. I strangly enough didn't have any issues getting it to work but once I found out that you have to have web access (which costs extra from the provider) on the phone I gave up. I have a razr, so I can (via bluetooth) transfer files. The other phones are samsung, so I bought (on ebay) an oem cable and software for the samsung's for I think $15. In sound editor, I pull the catch phrase or chorus from any mp3 file and export selection to a folder called ring tones. The rest should be self explanitory. The whole process takes about 10 minutes. And you don't have to give any more money to your provider for web access.

There seems, from what I've heard, some sort of hiccup between Xingtones and Roxio - fingers are pointing in each direction with one blaming the other

Hopefully this will be straightened out

There are times when I give companies the benefit of the doubt, but this time I will voice my opinion on Roxio. I've used their recordnow products for a few years now (yes they ship with the Dell's) and for the most part I've been content. But as you stated, both companies are pointing fingers and to make matters worse, ROXIO techs are plain idiots. I contacted both, Roxio and Xingtone. I got a reply back from Xingtone the next day stating the activation should've worked through Roxio. But just in case they offered a new serial key (which unfortunately did not work, but at least THEY TRIED). Now Roxio's only response is check our site. So I respond back a few days later telling them they should at the very least attempt to answer my problem or refund my money. Their response "We only refund purchases through Roxio and within 30 days". Well unfortunately Einstein never asked if I purchased direct or when I did purchase otherwise they would've been told (or checked my recent registration) that I did get through their site only a few days earlier.

So that is my experience with Roxio, they IGNORE your question and tell you to check their knowledgbase that doesn't answer crap!

Ok, my rant is complete now and their support staff is still PATHETIC!!
