The Highlander
Microsoft releases the Windows Vista Performance and Reliability fix packages August 7, 2007 at 8:52 PM These are the fixes that leaked last week, now the fix packs are publicly available. Funny how it says "to improve the performance of Windows Vista in certain scenarios". Well believe me, it will improve in all scenarios! So download and install these right away. I'm not sure when they will appear through Windows Update. Update for Windows Vista for x64-based Systems (KB938979) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/info.as...isplayLang%3den This is a performance update. Install this update to improve the performance of Windows Vista in certain scenarios. smonteijr
Dont be silly.... ill let the mass's do it first , and ill check the MSDN blogs on gripes in a week... I installed the patches and updated the new DirectX 10.1. No problems. At the least, Microsoft has a patch for its users.

gi7omy
Now what about all those Vista users who swore blind everything was Roxio's fault and certainly not that marvellous, reliable OS?
Brendon
Is there any way or any where to get them without having to install that treacherous "for Microsoft's Genuine advantage (but not yours)" program?
Bob Simoneau
Now what about all those Vista users who swore blind everything was Roxio's fault and certainly not that marvellous, reliable OS? These fixes by Microsoft did not help with my Vista EMC 9.1 problem. Problem: Disc Copier - Video Complilation Add Divx file Set Destination format to DVD Press Burn Choose save disc image file Hangs at Phase 1 of 1 (0%) 8% completion forever Hitting the cancel button will change to Phase 1 of 1 (Cancelling, please wait..) forever The program is obviously calling and waiting on another program, but communication is not working. Can only kill the process from task manager I do not think it is the divx file or programs, as if I choose destination format of MPG it works. I have latest video drivers, and Vista has DX10. I still swear that all problems are with Roxio, as all the other 30+ programs on my computer are running fine.
