DVD Burning freezes during final write-up.

Rebecca M

Question

Okay, I have a Powerbook G4, and Toast 8 (Titanium), and what I read here, they're compatible. I have about 30-40gb left, so I doubt space is the issue.

When I start burning DVD's with video files, it gets past the burning stage, but once it hits the ending write up (I think that's what it's called), it seems to freeze; I left it on for HOURS, and it didn't finish. Anyone have an idea as to why this is, or how I can fix it?

Also, does any of the Toast Package programs create Video_TS/Audio_TS menus for burning?

EDIT: Followed tsantees advice, and the files stop running after the first 2 minutes. So something's off. D=

I'll answer the last part first. The DVD video setting in the Video window authors VIDEO_TS folders with menus as part of the process. See Toast Help about creating a DVD video.

As for the former I suspect the optical drive could use a firmware update or possibly a different brand of media. I think you'll find the disc was burned acceptably even though something stalled in writing the lead-out.

Thanks for the help Tsantee, I'll run through the whole DVD to double check it. ^^
