rgs1077
Is it possible to import older version projects into V-8?? My new burner will not burn older (V-4) Dvd projects.
rgs1077
Is that oprion listed as "Save as DVD Folder..." ? Is there an option listed as "Save as Disc Image..." ? If there is, that's the one that would create the .iso disc image file. What v 8 product do you have to work with? Is it the EMC 8 suite or the MyDVD 8 one? It's the EMC 8 Suite. Do you know if you can import .mswmm files into 8? Thanks Larry!
grandpabruce
It's the EMC 8 Suite. Do you know if you can import .mswmm files into 8? Thanks Larry! No it can't, but if you can open that file in Windows Movie Maker, you can output it as an .avi file and get it to open in EMC 8. That is, if the .mswmm stands for Microsoft Movie Maker. I'm not sure what "version 4" you have, but I'm going to guess that you are taliking about a Sonic MyDVD version, as the earliest Roxio version that did video dvd's was v 6. EMC 9 will import (converts it to v 9 format) some older sonic MyDVD version projects, but not sure if it would be able to do version 4 ones. the only ones I know it will convert are MyDVD v6 ones. rgs1077
No it won't. Thanks for the response. Do you know if V-4 can be updated to work with the HP DVD 1040i drive or are there other newer drives that work with it. I've got a ton of projects done on the old version. No it will not. I doubt if there's any updates really that will make it work with the newer drives out there, but you can check on Sonic's old support site. One thing you could try, if MyDVD 4 is capable of this, is to try burning to a disc image file ( <filename>.iso ). You could then burn that disc image to a disc. If you have the EMC 8 suite (as opposed to MyDVD 8 standalone), you could use the Disc Copier program to that. If not, there are other products you can download to do it, some are free like ImgBurn. lynn98109
Outside possibility - get a geriatric computer that can run the previous Operating System, and the old burning software, and finish yr projects on that. Places to look would be eBay, places where old computers are refurbished or recycled, or possibly friends who are thinking of upgrading. Yes, it is My DVD 4.0. It will burn to a folder on the hard drive. Not sure about the .iso.
