Storyboard Editor within DVD Builder

Strech662

Question

I used the Storyboard editor within DVD Builder to create a montage of video and photo media. I did this on my laptop, which does not have a DVD burner, as I naively expected to be able to transfer the finished project to my desktop PC to burn. After completing and transferring the DVD project to my desktop PC, I observed that the paths for all photo/video files were lost and the project became a shell.

QUESTION: How can I save/output the montage created in Storyboard Editor WITHIN DVD Builder as a stand-alone file? If I an achieve this my problem is relatively solved.

Also, is there a way to create some sort of finalized output file on my laptop (one that maintains all video/photos) to transfer to my desktop? Or is there any way to link the two machines via USB and somehow burn to DVD that way?

Appreciate any help/guidance.

You can output your final version to whatever format you like - mpg, avi etc. OR you could create an ISO image of your project, transfer the ISO to your other machine and burn it there. If the file is very big you will need to transfer it via an external hard drive. You might also be able to network the two computers but I haven't a clue how to do that.

Sisterscape's suggestion about burning to an .ISO file is good. You can do that in MyDVD.

You can't output to .mpeg, .avi, etc., in DVD Builder. You can only do that in VideoWave, and there is a roundabout way of getting that .dmsd production back to VideoWave, but try the .ISO method, first.

The roundabout way to get the DVD Builder production into VideoWave is here: http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=9277

Then you'd have to output the production in VideoWave to a standalone movie.

However, you're still stuck with a file that's too large for a CD and I'm not certain you can transfer it via USB. You don't happen to have IEEE 1394 connections on both computers........networking can be done fairly easy that way.

Of course, if you happen to have a high speed internet connection (DSL or cable), you could upload that .iso file that you created with sisterscapes suggestion to one of the services that offer free online storage, then download it to your other computer.

Or as sisterscape suggested, use an external hard drive to transfer the .iso file between computers. That's probably the easiest way but you'd have to purchase an external drive.
