Cant add .avi files to MyDVD

Question

I cant add any of my .avi files to MyDVD it just doesnt recognize any of them . I have Roxio Creator 9.05 XE . Contacting or getting a response from Roxio is almost pointless i opened a tictet/emailed them a week ago and still have heard nothing . If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated .

I think you should look into the possibility of getting the 'full' version which offers more than the watered down OEM versions. EMC9 will likely be on sale soon since v10 is coming out on September 5. Maybe you can get a good deal on either of those versions.

It seems you have an OEM version of EMC and you really should contact the computer who gave you the software but, have you checked to see if you have the proper codecs to play this avi file? And, exactly what type of avi file do you have?

It came with the DVD burner i purchased . Im sure i have the correct codec they all play just fine and it simply doesnt recognize any .avi file i have from home movies to any other .

Just because you have the correct codec installed doesn't mean the software will use it. Since you have an OEM version of the software, it is most likely a 'cut down' version with many features disabled on purpose. There is no way for us to know what features are available in your OEM version.

 

The idea behind OEM versions is not to give away a fully functioning product. Those are more like trial versions.
