DVD-R issues with EMC9-D

Nila3

Question

Hello...

I just got a new Vaio laptop with Pioneer DVR-K17 DVD +/-RW drive. And EMC 9 deluxe edition.

I tried burning DVDs using Roxio, but it doesnt recognize the blank DVDs at all, and keeps spitting them out. I have read the other posts on this topic - so will tell u all details required beforehand :

1. OS : MS Vista Home Premium

2. Drive : Pioneer DVR-K17 DVD +/-RW drive

3. Roxio ver : EMC 9, deluxe

FYI, I have tried Memorex, HP, Imation and Sony DVDs - none of them get recognized.

I have updated the PX engine, as told by Roxio Email Support Team, and I have the latest firmware. All this, and still I cannot write DVDs. CD-R is pretty much happening.

Please advise? :(

Thanks

Nila3

Would you happen to have Office 2007 installed ? I ran into something similar where it was start the burning process and then spit the disk out after just long enough to hose the media. I have a nice little stack of coasters now. After troubleshooting the issue extensively I found that it was something in Office 2007 Ultimate. I'm thinking the Groove Server software might be a possible source of the problem.

Try Verbatim, and make sure that your Pioneer has the latest firmware update.

Hi Again. I did try verbatim bland DVDs. Its still the same. Pioneer says that my notebook has the latest firmware for DVR-K17, so I guess no issues with firmware.

To add a note, I am able to burn data into a blank DVD using Vista's own dvd burner. But Roxio is not able to recodnize the blank DVD.

Ny idea?
