After several hours trying to get Label Creator to print direct to disc on my new Epson R1800, I finally discovered what I was doing wrong. Just by choosing the 'print to disc' option DOES NOT actually change anything in the print driver to do so. It is strictly a 'paper type' template that positions where the image will print ONLY. The R800 and R1800 uses the same disc transport so you can use the R800 media setting to print labels.
You also MUST click on Printer Properties and then select the correct printer settings for CD/DVD printing. The R1800 has two settings: CD/DVD and CD/DVD Premium Surface. The premium surface uses more ink and you will get a warning that the disc must dry 24 hrs before using it in a player. Otherwise it may look like splatter art.
Other settings need not be changed unless you have custom ICCs or want to customize the color output.
