No Flames, But It Works Good For Me.

Question

Ok, first I want to ask for NO flames from all the unlucky people that hate ROXIO right now  But I want to express some positive news to this newsgroup about EMC8 for those wondering whether to buy it or not.

Ever since they came out with 8.0 I have visited this user group every day to see if things looked better regarding all the problems. I literally was horrified every day to read all the problems people are having!! But I needed a program that could be jack of all trades burning program... but not cost $400.

To make a long story short, after a few drinks :) I finally said, heck on it! Whats the worst that could happen!? If I back up all my files, even if it messes up I can reinstall the PC. I know it isnt what anyone WANTS to do, and surely there are a lot of problems ROXIO should be fixing yesterday but my post is purely to the people horrified to try it and sit on the fence, not to state it is fair.

The bottom line is that I installed vers 8.0 with NO PROBLEMS. And for the past two weeks have burned DVDs from many of the different segments (MyDVD, Videowave, MusicDVD, etc) and have not experienced the issues so many have.

So the point that there are many variables that affect some and not others HAS to be correct. I had pretty much every thing installed that others said could cause problems such as an ATI card... etc. All I did was uninstall all prior version of Drag to Disc, and updated all my drivers... then defragged and installed the program. I then updated to 8.05 (I am in the US) and away I went. I did however stop MediaManager from auto searching and I did not install the useless Drag-to-disc! It isnt worth the hassle of conflicting with Windows burning properties IMHO.

Well I have blabbed on enough, but after all the negative I wanted to express there are some that don't have a problem with it. To everyone else, good luck!! I know its frustrating!!

I vote to visit Paul so we can enjoy Mardi Gras in style. LOL

Even I'm not participating this year. I'm taking a well earned 4 day weekend while what's left of this city tries to forget it's last 6 months.

However, everyone is welcome to come spend their money and help our economy. Heck, even if you don't come and spend your money, with what it's going to cost to fix us up, we'll all be paying for it for years.

Now next year, while it won't be perfect, we should be able to really put on our best party for the world.

From what I'm reading in the Houston paper, NO is about to put up toll roads for people just to try to get into the city. Especially for some ex residents !. :)

What, a positive post?

Thanks for some good news. Of course, people who are pleased with what they buy don't always brag about it and forums like this are really for people who have problems, concerns and what to learn more.

Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion.

High fives to you, for your post. It is good to hear the success side of the software, once in awhile.

There are a lot of people who never experience any problems.

When there is a Problem they are generally discussed in these forms. We (the members of this form) do our best to try to find solutions and share infotmation, tricks, etc

Thank you for a positive review, however, before I purchase this product. When creating a slideshow via Videowave or Slideshow option, the this version allow an audio clip to loop or not?

Please advice

Regards,

Noel Francisco

I hate to miss the party, but about all I been drinking this week is Nyquil

Still not getting rid of it? #$^@. I may need pain killers for my back. We got another 8" of snow today, and I have to blow snow again tomorrow. 3rd time this week, and my back is out already. We have had 17" of snow since Monday. It is pretty outside, but a nuisance. I am ready for Summer. :)

I'm feeling a bit better especially since I've now shared it with the wife :) Only difference is, I not good at cooking chicken soup unless it's barbequed :D

You can keep the snow, I'll wait till it melts and use the water to brew some more beer.

I found that sipping on a beer or two, made the installation go smoothly. :)
