How do I do multi-session burning on a CD or DVD? Do I need a specially formatted disk?

How do I do multi-session burning on a CD or DVD? Do I need a specially formatted disk?

 

You can create multi-session CDs, but unfortunately you can not create multi-session DVDs due to an OS limitation in being able to read those discs even if we did create them.

 

1) Launch Toast

2) Click on the pulldown Recorder menu and selected Recorder Settings

3) Click on the Advanced tab

4) Check the write mode for data CD to "Write Session"

 

Now you'll be writing "sessions" to CD when burning data, meaning that you can use the same disc and add additional sessions by recording to it as you would normally. Each session will mount as a unique volume showing up on your desktop when a CD with multiple sessions is inserted.
