Can't burn a DVD

jacobyja53

Question

I've created a movie from old home movie videos that I want to burn to a DVD. When I click Burn, the Burn Project dialog appears. I select "Burn to disc", then select "Burn." The progress bar quickly reaches 100%. I get the message:

An unrecoverable device error occurred. Error while  Encoding Movie

I've updated my video driver, my DVD burner driver, tried deleting all but one chapter, nothing works.

I have a 2.16 GHz P4 Duo, 2 GB Ram, 35 GB spare disk space, NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110M video adapter.

I was able to successfully create a data disk using MyDVD.

I tried selecting the Image File in the Burn Project dialog, but the same error message appears.

any suggestions?

What program are you using? As far as I know, you cannot create a data disc in MyDVD; you can in other applications.

How did you create the video of the old movies? What forma?

If you created it in VideoWave, open Video Wave, select tools then options from the top menu and put a dot next to software. Now open the video and output (film reel icon) it to an mpg2 best quality for DVD file. If it encodes use that in VideoWave. If it does not, then post back and we'll trouble shoot.
