No drive detected

mknabster

Question

It seems that everytime i boot up EMC 8, at the bottom, in the middle, where it gives me the options of which drives i want to burn data to, has a message, "No drive detected." Now i have an internal CD-RW/DVD-Rom drive, as well as an external DVD-/+ RW burner, both connected. Why isn't Roxio seeing them?

If you can't find your DVD-CD drives in your Computer icon then Go to Device Manager in Windows and see if the DVD-CD drives are marked with a yellow (error) exclamation point. If so, then look at the error code. The error code will tell you what kind of problem you are experiencing. If the drives are not showing in my Computer then the driver is being blocked at load time. That would possibly mean that the device upper and lower filters need resetting. Then the software that caused the problem would have to be reinstalled. The MS Community BB has a fix posted for most error conditions.
