Any way to turn OFF looping for DVD movies?

VinceDiStefano

Question

I prefer Toast's encoding quality for DVD videos over anything else I have, even DVD Studio Pro. (video content comes from Final Cut Pro and sometimes iMovie).

BUT I can't seem to figure how to get content to NOT loop. Most of the time I do in fact want looping, so it's never been an issue before, but for this project it is.

In iDVD there's a "Loop" menu option which can be turned on or off.

What am I missing? I've searched everywhere. TIA for any help...

Deselect "Play all items continuously" and it won't loop if you have a menu. If you have no menu, then it will always loop.

Thanks. Well, that's disappointing. I guess Roxio didn't forsee that somebody might want to forgo a menu AND not loop. Sometimes we want to pop in a disc to show a client and have it start immediately, instead of futzing with menus. And then have it just end so we can sit back and bask in their glowing comments without scrambling for the remote. Oh well.

You nearly can have that except at the end it will show a menu. You can drag your own background image into the menu (such as an all-black JPEG, choose black for the button highlight color and use a black lead-in frame for the thumbnail image. If Toast will allow this delete all text for the menu and give your DVD a name such as Thank You for Watching our Video. The Corporate menu design might be best for this effect. Now that I think about it if you choose everything as white then the name of the disc won't show against the white background, either.

With Auto-play disc on insert checked you'll not see the menu until the end.
