problems using cd burned using adaptec 2.5c under win98 in other computers

I have a dell pc windows 98 second edition. A sony cdrx100e cd-rw drive. I have adaptec 2.5c software to burn cd's. When i loaded win98se i got a message that the driver may not work correctly with the win 98 se (for information sake). It works fine in my computer though. When I tried to read the cd in another computer that had vista it did not recognize it. When i tried to read it in another computer with win98 it didn't recognize it again. Any ideas what i have to do to be able to burn a cd in my computer that i will be able to read in a Vista computer (i am buying a new computer).

2.5????

Now that's OLD

I can just about remember that one (but I started with v3)

I don't know if it used the packet writing or not, but if you can, make a .iso image of the CD and burn that - that should be compatible with anything really. Packet writing (as well as being unreliable) is version specific to a great extent and can't be read in a lot of newer machines
