activation a complete waste of time

Question

Well folks take my advice put the disk back in the box and return it for a refund then buy another product.

I have done everything posted in this forum with no success. Save yourself 5 + hours of your life and read no further. Don't be fooled into thinking there is a fix for this. Some people have been lucky but in 2007 computer software should not be based on luck. Do the math, is 5 hours of your time worth the $100 bucks you spent for this ?

I would have picked up my phone and called somebody… Seems to be a dying art.

In fact I just spent a total of 6 hours on the phone with 4 different manufactures to get my new wireless router up and running.

That is a lot of time but all PCs in my house are up and running now.

Your right about the phone, but over the years I have spent a lot of wasted time on hold or following trouble shooting procedure that leads no where. I have found forums to be the best form of self help and a lot of good folks have tried to help a LOT of others with this problem.

Several other's in this forum had phoned and posted the results here with little or no success.

The good news is however, that staples office supply refunded my money so I bought Nero version 7 today and was burning dvd's in less than an hour right out of the box, with no phone calls, no activation, or hunting around forums for hours on end.

The interesting thing to note here however is johns (roxio) original post " Start here if you have activation problems." has had over 9600 views if you assume everyone that looked at it actually looked at it three times over 3300 people have had problems with activating this software. I would say Roxio has a problem.

Nero may not be the best piece of software, but even a bald tire is better than a flat one.

Take my advice buy nero 7, it works out of the box. :)
