Backup MYPC: New Folders not Backed Up?

bumper

Question

I have Backup MYPC 6.0.

I would like to define a backup job that creates a

new backup of all files under the "My Docs" folder

except for files under "My Videos" and "My Music",

which are huge folders. In addition I want to

backup several other folders which have long,

tedious pathnames, so I don't want to re-create

the backup job each time.

So I created the job, deselected My Vids and My

Music, and did a backup.

When I came back a few months later to run the job

again, it looked to me that new folders created in

the My Documents area since the 1st backup are not

backed up. Did I hose myself once I deselected My

Music and My Videos?

Do newer versions of BUMPC have what I'm looking

for?

First, there are no newer versions, at least standalone. Newest version is 7 that comes with EMC 9.

I think the problem may be the way you selected. I believe you may have gone into My Documents and selected individual directories. Doing it that way, it will not pick up new directories. What you need to do is select My Documents, then de-select those you do not want. I just did a test, created a job selecting the main directory, and de-selected one in there. Then saved the job. I then created a new directory. It was automatically picked up by the job, without me having to select it.
