No Recording Device

Vexed George

Question

On my new HP multimedia with Vista, I uninstalled the Roxia EMC that came with the computer, and installed a new EMC suite. It seems to have loaded OK and even registered me with Roxio. However when I try to record from a record player via an amp, I get the message " No recording device found" I click OK, and the next screen has a pull down titled "Capture from", this is completly blank! What do I do next? My sound card is a Realtek High Deff Audio, and works fine with cd"s, and during a system test.

Some integrated sound cards don't always work with this feature plus, Vista and it's magical DRM features make matters worse. I'm not at a computer with Vista installed at the moment but may have some suggestions later and will try a few things myself and post back.

Have you tried using the Realtek software itself for what you are doing? It might be possible but you may have to contact HP for help with that.
