CD Spin Doctor - what's wrong with it?

cfbuser

Question

I have Toast 8.0 on my MacBook C2D. Today I tried to record a tape cassette to the MacBook and had the following issues:

1) After connecting the cable between the MacBook and the LineOut at my stereo, I could not record to CD Spin Doctor because of some very unusual noise. Thought it was the cable, got another one, but it did not solve the problem. Recording with Audacity did work perfectly, without "background noise...

2) I then loaded the .aiff file from Audacity in CD Spin Doctor to define tracks, and send them to Toast 8. Everythin looked fine, but all tracks were only half the length in Toast than in CD Spin Doctor.

What is wrong there?

Thank you, Christian.

Ups - I didn't realize that there is an updated version available. I'll try and let this forum know.

The updated version does not show this problem. But: what was so special that it did not work last week? I never came across that mis-behaviour before (am using 8 for about 2 or 3 months)?

Ever since I updated to 8.0.1 my CD Spin Doctor will not save any of my defined tracks. I reopen the file and everything is gone. Argh! And I can't find an answer for this anyway. So I reinstalled my copy of Toast 6 with CDSD version 2 and it works fine.
