Unable to View the Burned file on Windows

Kulvinder

Question

Hi,

Right now I have seen one issue in toast 8 . Whenever I am trying burn a data dvd with quick time file exceeding 2 gb on a mac with Mac & Pc enabled option, that burned file can't be viewed in windows plateform, however on macintosh plateform it is working fine & can be viewed . Have a look on this too , files which are less than 2 gb can be viewed on a pc but more than 2 gb cant be viewed. However the property of the dvd shows the complete file size. For this issue I had updated the Toast Titanium 8 to 8.0.1 but issue remains the same.

I have tried trashing the Toast prefs and plist files found in User>Library>Preferences folder

Same thing I found on Every Brand new System with Toast 8.0.1 or Toast 8 installed. This cant be a Pref. issue, must be something else.

Any Have the idea How I got it work in Toast 8.0.1,

Thanks in Advance

I just discovered the same issue. I was in Toast 7 burning a 2.5 GB file in mac/pc format. The resulting disk in windows had the file at 2 GB and thus the file was not usable. After a $10 phone call to support where they stated it would work in Toast 8. So after a $100 download ($20 rebate to come someday), I burned the same file in Toast 8 under mac/pc and now the file does not even show up!

So, can Toast deal with files > 2 GB? Only in UDF? :(

Is the solution a UDF disk? Or another program?

Buddy You dont need another program for this not even a UDF disk

You can use the Macintosh utility to burn Such DVDs

Just right click on your desktop & create a burn folder , add your videos in that folder & then burn that folder....

thats it.. it will work for you

I am using this right now instead of Toast....

If need any help you can send me PM

So, I never solved this issue: Trying to burn a hybrid disk that allows me to select what is seen on each side (Mac and win), customize the mac window side (background, etc.) in Toast 8 with a file over 2 GB. I do not want to do staright UDF as I can not customize the Mac side with that and I need to hide certain files from each side.

Has anybody found a way to make this work in Toast 8 or 9?

Thanks!
