DVD builder will not load

bhds

Question

Have used EMC 7 since it first came out. Upgraded my computer a couple of days ago and reloaded all software including EMC 7. Dvd Builder/Create new DVD hangs whenever I try to start them. VideoWave opens okay though. Running internet explorer 6.0... and Windows Media Player 9.00. Also, this is a new clean installation with no malware of any kind on it. :glare:

Any help appreciated :)

Try going to your Windows\ Start\ Control Panel\ System ( it might be Windows\ Start\ Performance Settings\ System)

Go to the Advanced tab\ Performance Settings\ Data Execution Prevention and turn on DEP for Windows essential services only, or add DVD Builder to the list of programs allowed to execute.

Now that might not be the problem, but it's a good place to start.

My DEP settings were already set for essential services only. Added dvd builder to exceptions list. No help at all.

Sorry. :(

You said that you've had the program since it first came out. What version do you have?

Did you check to see if there were updates to your version? The automatic update feature no longer works, so you have to go to the support website and download it manually.
