Slammers
Hi, I made a dvd with a menu in Dvd builder, but when I finished it and wanne burn he says I need a update for Dvd builder to make a dvd. Now I only can make a Vcd. So I downloaded a update, but when I wanne install it it says 'The language you are trying to install is different than what is currently on your system' In the program self it's Dutch. So what's the problem?

So what's the problem? Did it ask for an 'update'? Are you sure it was not for mpeg activation? MyDVD has to be activated for mpeg to work and if not, you'll only be able to make VCD's. You can check out the activation section of this forum for some more info about mpeg activation.

So what's the problem? Is this a retail version that you purchased or one that came with a system or hardware, like a burner? Just to confirm, is it version 6? If the latter, it's probably an OEM basic version and has limited abilities, in which case you may need to purchase a newer version. Did it ask for an 'update'? Paul, this is in the v6 area (at least now, maybe it was in the wrong area before?), so the v9 activation I don't think applies.

I didn't even realize I was in the 6 area. I'm leaving now to get a bit more coffee to see if that helps. Apologies to Slammers for my confusion. lynn98109
Basic and Platinum are separate programs. The only way to change from one to the other is by buying the other one. Since it's been a while since it was last available, I'd suggest looking someplace like eBay. If you have a powerful enough computer, you might consider upgrading to a newer Version. james_hardin
You have never told us what you are trying to do??? That would determine your 'need' for Platinum! As Lynn pointed out, the program has been out of production for years so it is like seeking MS Office Pro 95 to update your MS Works of Win95 vintage… Yes you will get more capability but you would still be miles behind the current version!!! Of course Lynn also mentioned that every version after V6 required greater and greater hardware minimums.
