Siggy
Here's the short version. -Ignore the incompatability message. -install your version 5 but don't restart Windows -install the 5.3.5.10 updater, and then restart Windows. This has the effect of not letting Windows see any early (incompatible) ECDC drivers running. By the time everything starts to run, it's version 5.3.5 already. 5.3.5.10 should run okay when installed like this. I've never had problems with it, but some folks have and I suspect this might be one of the reasons why support for version 5 was dropped. Hello, I'm new here but glad to find you all. This happened because I also dug out a Roxio Easy Creator, Basic Edition Creator 5, I have a WXP SP1 OS I realize may be slightly rare since everyone else is probably updated to SP3 by now, I have attempted to update but I don't have enough RAM and need to upgrade, that means I have to open up the computer and put in a chip, I really have been avoiding that. Anyway, I have this technical paper I am writing and want a slide show to work from my Windows, Picture and Fax, these are all line drawings, and I have it working, but would like to set speeds and or Caption the Title, or have stop action and things like that. Can I get these with this Roxio Edition Creator 5 Basic ? If so, I realize I will have to update as you have mentioned, how am I doing ? , . . am I on the right track ? I need your confidence here to double check my capability. I have noticed a redirect in reply to the original post and I'm not sure if I understand what or how the capability of the SP1 OS is effected. Siggy Hi Siggy, You shouldn't have attached your question to somebody else's topic, but you're new so I shifted it to a separate topic for you I'm afraid that Easy CD Creator 5 Basic won't do the things you want. It has only the Creator system, which burns or copies standard discs, and Direct CD which burns pre-formatted discs. Basic doesn't have the software required to make slide shows. (It is very Basic). You'll need to get some more advanced software for what you want to do, sorry. Regards, Brendon
