Vista Business vs Ultimate

Mahal

Question

Purchased a new Dell with Vista-Business and Roxio Creator & MyDVD 9.0 Premier installed.

Experienced some functionability problems with Roxio and also learned that the Business version does not support some graphics functions like HD video. Decided to upgrade to Ultimate. Now I can't open Roxio. Inserted install disc that came with computer and received a message that program was not compatable with OS. Any suggestions?

I'm using EC9 with Ultimate so I know it will work. Have you tried a complete uninstall/reinstall? If you uninstall you probably want to run a registry cleaner before reinstalling to make sure all of the junk gets out.

Here are some clean install details as well http://kb.roxio.com/content/kb/Creator/000086CR

The link you provided is not for Vista. This article provides a link to clean install in Vista. Article 000127CR (Revised April 11, 2007) may work for Vista 32 bit, but does not work for Vista 64 bit. See the following post to do a FULL uninstall in Vista 64 bit: http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=25682

A registry cleaner that works in Vista 64 bit would simplify the uninstall, but I have not found one that works reliably. Another post suggested that the following product is advertised for Vista 64 bit.:

http://www2.ashampoo.com/webcache/html/1/product_2_1606_.htm

I tried to use it, but have had problems that ashampoo tech support is researching.
