I just sent a master off to be replicated. The initial tests by the duplication facility were fine. It played without problems in their gear, but when sent to the replicator the following error message was sent back to us. what does it mean, and how do I fix it.
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEMS DETECTED ON OUR ECLIPSE SYSTEM:VOBU LENGTH&NUMBER OF SECTORS DISAGREE.
The length of the VOBU is calculated using the address of the Navigational Pack and the length as specified in DSI field (NV-PCK+VOBU_EA=Length).The eclipse tools keep count of the number of sectors that make up the VOBU. If the number of sectors doesn’t equal to the length specified in the VOBU_EA field the this error occurs. In most cases, this problem has caused playability problems. The problem is caused during authoring process and can’t be corrected in Pre Mastering or Mastering.
I am using Avid DVD by sonic (which seems to be dvdit with a different face.
