If your Sony camcorder has a Firewire (IEEE1374) port and you have a firewire cable, plug that cable from the camcorder into a Firewire port on your computer (most newer computers have a firewire port) and open up Roxios Capture Video program. Once you have the video on a folder on your computer, open up the Roxio Videowave program and add it there. You can edit it in Videowave in the "Timeline View". When completed, save the videowave production as a <name>.dmsm file.

Now open up Roxio's MyDVD program and add the dmsm file you saved to that program. You can add some other options there and when completed, burn the video to a DVD. Depending on the blank DVD media you used to burn the video, your set top DVD player should be able to play it just fine.

Note: Some DVD players are particular as to what type of media they will play. Most newer DVD players will play most any make of DVD media.

How are you importing?

Did you try copying the vob files to your HD and renaming them to mpg?

Video files are not some data files you can copy and paste!

Read the manual, read the Help files.

Get a disc or 2 or DVD RW to use while learning.
