Hanging at 42% while encoding movie...

whitewolf14

Question

I've been having trouble burning a multiple movie files to DVD, once I click burn to disc or burn image to the computer, it gets to encoding movie and hangs/freezes at 42%. I need help

One thing I noticed it tries to give me an encoding preview I never noticed that before. Is this supposed to be disabled?

We use Easy Media Creator 9 and run Microsoft Windows XP

We've tried a lot already: updated graphics card, changed from hardware to software thingy, updated Direct X, Uninstalled, Reinstalled and nothing is working. Can anyone help me?

Problem: When trying to burn any movie to DVD when you click burn, it goes to encoding movie and gets to 42% overall: 41% and the computer stops. The computer is fine it doesn't freeze bot EMC just stops the project with no error messages or anything.

First, what program in the EMC 9 suite are you using to try to burn to a DVD? It sounds like you have a corrupted file at the 42% time period.

I agree with Bruce. To start with I would figure out which movie file is located at 42% of the timeline. Then I would delete that file and see if it will burn from there. If that works try opening that file in Videowave and try to rerender the file to see if you are able to eliminate the corrupted portion.

Good Luck

I have the same problem. I get to 44% and it stops. Curiously, it stops after creating the .iso image file. I can then use Task Manager to force it closed and then a free download called infrarecorder to go ahead and burn the .iso file to the DVD disc (something mydvd should have finished all by itself no doubt). I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, etc. Am using EMC 9.1,068 on an XP machine.

Try splitting the operation into two parts - first tell the program to burn to the hard drive (then you get the .iso file) and open that after you put in a blank (just double click the .iso and the suite will automatically start the burn process)
