I had great difficulty installing EMC9 after EMC7.5. Finally, I found a knowledge base article (#000086CR) that helped me do a clean install and now EMC9 runs without crashing after 90 seconds. However, I still have a problem opening CineMagic. I used to be able to access CineMagic directly in version 7 (from home), but now I have to open VideoWave first and click the "New Cinemagic Production" link - but then nothing happens. The program doesn't open.
I'm using EMC9LE - part of a Plextor PX-800A purchase. Maybe Cinemagic is not a part of the LE product - if so, I'm going back to version 7 and hope for the best. CineMagic was one of my favorite parts of version 7.5.
EMC version 9 is the buggiest and least stable version I've used - and I've used several versions since version 4. Version 7 was also much easier to use than version 9.
Disappointed so far - but hopeful.
