No Recorders Seen By Roxio

DoubleHelix

Recommended Posts

After much trouble getting Roxio 6 to install and run without blue screening, it then caused both burners to be deleted from My Computer. Uninstalling didn't resolve the issue. I had to run System Restore to get the software off and get the computer to see my optical drives.

After years of only using Roxio software to burn CDs, I now can't even have it installed on my system without MAJOR problems. It would be great if someone could explain how to get it to work again.

Hello DoubleHelix,

If your optical drives disappear, something has broken the filter setup in your registry.

The procedure for fixing that starts in this KnowledgeBase article. You'll see that it isn't solely a Roxio problem, it's an issue between burning programs and Micro$oft.

The article tells you how to recover from the filter problem, but you recovered by restoring your system so the registry entries will be back in place. You should reinstall Version 6, and hopefully the filter problem won't reappear.

Regards,

Brendon
