MPHD still in active development?

shilla

Question

I haven't seen updates to Motion Pictures HD in quite some time. Not to mention of course, the most pressing need for native binaries for Intel macs. The software crawls while showing full screen previews on my Mac Pro. I love the software but found myself exploring alternatives in light of this. Is MPHD dead in the water or can we expect an intel version any time soon?

That's true. I suppose I mean an upgrade. The last update was not much more than a bugfix.

Personally I'll be very surprised if Motion Pictures HD gets upgraded, although I have no more inside knowledge than you do about this. It has fallen way behind the alternatives of Photo-to-Movie, Fotomagico and iMovie HD except for that nifty multi-image trick. On the other hand, if Roxio continues to bundle it with Toast then they need to make sure its developer keeps Motion Pictures working with the current OS and QuickTime. So it's not dead yet.
