RICKG
When trying to install EMCS 10 the installation starts rolling back when it reaches the cineplayer decoder installation. After rolling back the entire installation, the the installation cancells. Also, the EMCS 10 installation package stalls when it is opened. There appears to be a software conflict. gi7omy
I'm a bit confused - how can it 'stall when opened' if it won't install in the first place? However - chck first the installation setup is OK (if it's a download version, open it with Winrar and extract to a folder anywhere on the hard drive, if a CD/DVD, make a folder and copy the contents into it). If that fails, you have a faulty installation suite If it succeeds, turn off ALL running programs (and I do mean ALL, including anti-virus, etc) and run setup.exe from the folder you just made
Guest ivanatrox
I merged the two topics together. For WillyB and RICKG. 1. Do you have HP computers? 2. If you go to msconfig and disable the Startup items, are you able to install properly? Please reply to this thread and let me know Ivan

Do you have to take special considerations when installing EMC10 on HP computers? I ask this since I've been trying to install EMC10 on my HP computer without success, though it had EMC9 running correctly. I share many of the horror stories posted on the forum about installs, reinstalls, service stopping, VISTA, etc. and still I'm unable to install it correctly. Hope you can tell us if there are issues with HP computers. Thanks, Max
gi7omy
The problem is that HP and Dell both install a cut-down and modified version of EMC on their machines - these have to be completely removed first
MadMax
The problem is that HP and Dell both install a cut-down and modified version of EMC on their machines - these have to be completely removed first Thanks for the information. What happened to me is that I have VISTA Ultimate installed in my machine and running EMC9 perfectly. I bought EMC10 and installed it without first uninstalling EMC9, now nothing works. I've tried all the procedures explained here without success. I'm even unable to reinstall EMC9. So I'm looking for any help available. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: D:\CPDECODERPACK_43\CPDECPACK.msi And Also Product: Sonic CinePlayer Decoder Pack -- Error 1706. Thanks, Max I done full unisntall of EMC9 before installing EMC10. Eveything I can lay my hands on that belongs to Sonic and Roxio. Unsinstalled all even the EMC9 Content. And EMC10 installed successfully without a hitch on my HP pavilion DV9000 series also with Nero 7 on it. This HP came with a EMC9basic and I installed EMc9 full deluxe version and now EMC10 no problems. though The basic version still on my back Up drive. Now with you, Try going back to your Control panel and unsinstall all Sonic/Roxio still in there. Run a cleaner, reboot and try again. Good luck! I had the same problem with my laptop HP DV8000 (series) laptop and several Sonic product (a DVD player included, which I suppose is responsable for the Cineplayer error messages. After the complete removal , the installation of EMC 10 was sucessfull.
