Ri_olson
How can I change from drag to disc pointing to the E drive when I want it to work with the D drive? I can't seem to find a settings option to change drives.
John9210
Should be an icon in your Systray. Right Click it to bring up the Menu. Hover on the "Choose Recorder" choice until all of your Burners appear. Pick the one you want. Note that D2D can only be selected for ONE burner at a time although if you put a formatted disc into the other burner, and copy and paste files to it with Explorer, it will work. Also keep in mind that D2D is a Packet Writer. And like all packet writers, is the least reliable form of burning ever devised! Use it at your own risk. If packet writers are unreliable (I'm having troubles with D2D) what is a good burning program?
grandpabruce
If packet writers are unreliable (I'm having troubles with D2D) what is a good burning program? Use Creator Classic. It is one of the programs in the EMC 8 suite. You don't need to format your CD's or DVD's.
lynn98109
Any Sessions-based program, such as Classic Creator in EMC 8, or the built-in WinXP burning ability. Packet-Writing can be fussy at best (demanding the same Version and Operating System that wrote it), and can fail for any reason or none at all. Packet-Writing is proprietary, and incompatible (for writing) between different programs (Roxio's Drag2Disc, Sonic's DLA, Nero's InCD, etc), and sometimes between different Versions of the same program. It's chief purposes are 1. for people who were limited to 1.44MB floppies (long ago) 2. moving files if there is NO OTHER alternative 3. losing data. If you've "archived" stuff to Drag2Disc, I'd suggest moving it to a Sessions-based program ASAP. Oh - if you are using RW media under the mis-impression it is designed to "work like a floppy" - it speeds up the blanking out. I didn't believe the warning and was therefore enabled to learn about that first-hand. You might find of inerest the Byers Guide (written by Fred Byers). It's in .pdf format.
