jwaldrop
Just curious what you guys have discovered. I've typically tried to stay with better name dvd blanks for burning my backups, but got talked into a lesser brand that was really inexpensive. They have burned with no trouble, and have been watched once, successfully. Will they hold up, or in you folks experience is this a waste of money because of long term failure? Like I said, just curious.

jwaldrop
Someone fouond this, and I bookmarked it. Last updated 2Nov06, but still very interesting. http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm Lynn Thanks, interesting read. In truth, these were HP dvds that were foisted on me, and out of 12 I've had a 100% success rate, except one that I know was my fault. Looks like they were made by CMC, although I did not find the exact number on the list.

CMC is CMC Manetics and is tops of the 3rd rate media, although I would rate it the lowest media I have ever used. If you have good burns, then it is working for you. You could run and error check in DVDInfoPro, and see if you get read errors.
