Missing Easy Audio Capture gadget in Vista

Just got a new Vista (32-bit) machine and installed EMC 10 without any other versions on the machine. Install sent pretty well, although the DVD wanted to spin forever before doing anything--had to open the drive and reinsert it in fact. Maybe that's got something to do with the missing Easy Audio Capture gadget in my sidebar. The online help screens say that's where I should find it. I sure can't find it anywhere else. But it's not there.

 

I searched Roxann and I searched the support database. The closest help I got was for Vista 64-bit, and there's nothing in it that matches what's on my DVD or my Uninstall Programs list, so it's no help. An email to support just pointed me to a list of 188 EMC 10 installation issues, including the 64-bit issue.

 

Anyone have any ideas??

The new gadgets are installed on your machine but you have to customize your Vista sidebar. At the top of your Sidebar you will see a little oval control. Hit the + to add new gadgets. You will see the Easy Audio Capture gadget and the Audio Video Converter gadget. Drag them to your sidebar and wait for them to appear in full size (this takes a moment... be patient).

If you don't want to fool with gadgets, you can get to Audio Capture from within the Music Disc Creator Application.
