Saving Projects On External Hard Drive

loizok

Question

I want to save my projects onto an external hard drive and the question is, Can I save it directly to the external hard drive or copy the files to it? If I copy the files am I assured of copying all the necessary files to open and edit those files later? If I save directly to the external hard drive will all the files be saved to open and edit later? Since the software is on the computers internal hard drive will the software recognize the files on the external hard drive? As you can tell I am a novice at this and would appreciate input on this situation.

Videowave or MyDVD should open the files regardless of where there are located although it may not work over a network.

If I am working on different projects, I like keeping ALL files related to a project in the same directory including the Videowave and MyDVD project files. The project files is where the location of files is stored so the program can open the video or image files later.
