Importing Wma Into Music Dvd

iansmith56

Question

I have been using a friends EMC 8 to try and create a music DVD to play back on a DVD player.

When importing WMA files from folders on the hard drive, some of the music tracks will import and with others it says a) the file does not exist or B) the file is an unsupported format.

All the music has been copied from CD at 192 bit rate.

Has anyone else come across this problem. I would estimate that from any one CD ripped to hard drive that only 45% will import into the project.

I was going to buy EMC 8 and that was what I was experimenting with, but probably won't buy it if it wont do this simple task.

Any suggestions will be welcomed by my friend as she feels let down having parted with her money and finding it wont do what she needs it to do.

Thanks in advance to everyone.

I tried a test.I ripped 5 cd's to my hard drive (commercial cd's) into 192k .wma's.Then using Music Disc Creator I added all the tracks to the DVD at the same time. All of them added no problem .I ended up with 48 tracks on the list to go on the DVD.So no problem adding the tracks from 5 different cd's with average of about 10 cuts per cd.

When you were trying to do this did you use DVD Assistant or Music Disc Creator? If it was the Assistant, try using Music Disc Creator. When I first tried doing these I was using the Assistant and was having trouble getting one to complete.

More than likely, it's a DRM thing. The file is copyprotected. You should be able to burn it using the program service you downloaded it from then rip it from the disc in mp3 format.

I thought it might have been that as well but then i tried it with allosrts of cd's. If I take any one cd it will only import some of the tracks before getting the message. I tried it with some of my friends cd's that they have recorded themselves and the problem is the same.

I then selected at random about 20 albums and the result is always the same. My friend has around 200 hundred albums on her hard drive all at a bit rate of 192 and they all appear to be doing the same, import some tracks but reject other tracks from the same album.

Is it only wma files that this is happening to?
