Can anyone help?

I have Creator Basic v9 and a Compaq presario desktop pc. When I start up Roxio, it doesn't detect my cd drive at all and I don't know how to sort it out - sorry if in wrong place, but didn't know where to post question. I'd be grateful for any help at all.
