Will not Capture

Question

Hello-I was not sure if I should post this question here but did not see anything about Roxio 7.5-

When I am trying to capture a scene from my digital tape a message comes up telling me that it's unable to capture-I am also getting warnings of not enough memory in my system when I know I do-I recently dumped 50GB worth of footage from last years soccer season.

Plus Roxio seems to be running very slow and when I am starting my capture mode and end mode there is quite a bit of delay.

I am running Windows XP on a Dell Dimension 8400 2G's of RAM with a 160G hard drive with 2 external hard drives also

Thanks for the help in advance

Anyway, don't confuse memory with disk space - not the same thing. What may be happening is that you need more physical memory or a bigger pagefile. To change the size of the pagefile, go to control panel, system, advanced and click on the top button (it will say at the end 'virtual memory') Again click on the advanced tab and then the button at the bottom called 'change'. In that set the minimum and maximum value for pagefile.sys to at least double your actual RAM

As you dumped a lot of stuff off the hard drive, it's almost certain to be badly fragmented - run the defragmentation program (if you don't have a dedicated one, use the one in the Start Menu (under accessories, system tools). It's a good idea to run that regularly anyway and also before you render any video work

Thanks for your reply-As it stands right now my Initial size is 1536MB-Maximum size is 3069MB-

Total paging file size for all drives is:

Minimum allowed 2MB

Recommended 3069MB

Currently allocated 1536MB

So as you indicated changing the size what should they be??

Thanks again for your help!!
