JET is produced by the MS JET database engine (wikipedia article here)

The ROMFN file is a temp file produced by EMC (I'm not sure what it is from but I doubt very much if it will do any harm)

It happens quite often that different apps (and even XP itself) produce temp files that can't be got rid of in the normal manner

We saw this problem in V9 with Nortons One-Click doing the same thing. If it happens again try doing a repair instead of an uninstall and reinstall.

If the problem is being caused by One Care then it's Microsoft removing something it shouldn't and not Roxio's fault.

Many, many thanks, gi7omy! Very helpful, and very enlightening! Anyway, the presence of those files hasn't hindered installation of EMC10 and I'm really enjoying it! I've made two CDs with it already and although they're from free downloads that aren't always the best-sounding recordings, EMC10 has made them sound wonderful!

Best wishes,

I simply told Norton to "ignore" the 6 items in its list.

But I still don't get a "clean scan" due to a couple of "undeletable" temp files, JETxxxx.tmp and ~ROMFNxxxx.

I can delete those temp files only in safe mode, and on restart they return. I understand the above temp files are not dangerous, but why am I getting them? I did not get them before the Microsoft update around the end of August.

Thanks for your help!
