Info Requested: Runtime Error-Virtual Call- R6025

John at Roxio

Question

For anyone still getting the error in the title. Can you include details on what modules the error is occurring in? Right now I have seen posts that it happens in the following modules:

RoxWatchTray10.exe

MediaManager10.exe

VideoWave 10.exe

Also, if you were able to resolve the issue can you list your solution along with the module that the error occurred in. That would really help us out.

Andy - for the record, Roxio is trying to get to the bottom of the problem. Whatever is causing it on some machines isn't clear - which is why they're asking for hardware details and also what modules cause it.

Until it can be worked out just WHY some (but not all) machines have the problem, a solution isn't available. In the interim, disabling the media manager and roxwatch from starting up at boot seems to help some people. You aren't removing them - just keeping them from running in the background all the time: they can still be called if required

Guys - please

This thread was started by John for reporting this problem - don't just fire up posts asking for 'suggestions' - post your system specs and details of where the problem occurred so that the guys can work on it and try to develop a patch

And what do you expect to be told?

Daily posts saying 'we still haven't found out that the problem is'

Welcome to the REAL workd - people actually DO try to fix things and asking them to keep stopping so you can be 'informed' only holds things back for everyone

Is the solution provided by lazer 98 (see above) the final solution for the runtime (R60255) error?

For some ATI cards, it evidently is. But, I am not sure it is a problem with all versions of the Catalyst drivers, and if you don't install that resource hog, Control Center, then you won't have a problem with any of the Catalyst drivers.

Well, after finally getting a good install of EMC10, everything ran smoothly until I added 2Gig more memory (moving from 2 to 4 <even though I really have access to only 3.2 Gig>). On re-booting, I started getting the C++ Runtime error on RoxWatch10.

Quick update...I've noticed that the error comes up at boot-up about 80% of the time. Sometimes, it apparently starts up just fine. Go figure!

No, it might only be a solution that applies to the video card he uses as well as to WMP 11. For me the error only happens when I disable the RoxioMediaDB service.

I purchased Media 10 yesterday and i havnt been able to use it cos of the problems John at Roxio states they are aware of the problem. So I was sold something that the company knew would not work correctly.

That is FRAUD and a criminal offence

Oh my. Your post certainly isn't an extension of your username.

As this is a known problem for which there is as yet no workaround I think it would be a gesture of good faith if Roxio provided me with the previous version so that I can at least use that one until the issues with this new one are sorted out.

Seems like a sensible suggestion. While they are still working on this issue, which seems to afflict many many people, despite denials from the "fanboys", perhaps Roxio should also withdraw this software from sale until they can solve these problems. That would certainly concentrate their attention.

Problem fixed.

I found this on another thread......

I couldn't find the option in my WMP (v.11.0.5721.5230) to turn off DirectX acceleration. I was searching for instructions for how to do so and ran across a posting at http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=27504 that said if you have an "ATI card with Catalyst Control Center, then you have to go to CCC, advanced mode, Video/All settings, scroll to bottom and uncheck "Windows Media Video Acceleration', click Apply OK."

I unchecked the Windows Media Video Acceleration and now everything works great.

Thanks.................................

I am not a computer guru but I am having th problems with videowave 10.exe and i do not know what to do to get the runtime errors to stop. i can not even use this software to make dvd's at all. this program is useless as it stands. i wish someone at roxio would find the solution and let me know in laymans terms how to fix this. i would really like to use this software. can anyone help..thanks

I am using windows xp home sp2 the same as most of the people in trouble with this software.

Maybe it will work with the Intel integrated chipsets - just a pity THEY don't work for video rendering ;)

Daithi,

as I pointed out in another post, I have the integrated Intel 82845G chipset on my system and it works just fine (except for the 3D functions and requires software rendering) I think you should stop making the blank statement that the Intel Integrated chipsets don't work. Some work and some don't!

Why don't you give a call, suggesting that. :)

I ran into the same problem with EMC 10 and fixed the R6025 problem by following the instructions noted above. Thanks for the information!

For My ATI Graphic Card, I installed the driver only and not the CC and I had the problems.

Hmmm. Thanks, I stand corrected. There must be some bugs in ATI's newer drivers. I have an older ATI Radeon 9800 Pro on my other computer and have had no problems with it. But, I have an early 2006 driver installed, and I use it with the last Control Panel that ATI offered, prior to going to the bloatware Control Center.

Oh, and I prefer ATI over NVidia. The NVidia card, in this computer, is probably the last NVidia that I will have.

Don't get me wrong. I am not giving up, just a little tired of trying to get it to work. Yes, tech is helping. As for the zip file they sent, the "content" file wasn't in there for some reason. I did contact them about that. I am here for the loooooong haul. :(

You can also disable video acceleration in WMP11 by going to the little windows sign in the top left hand corner. Then right click. Go to tools, options and then performance. You should see the video performance acceleration slider about 2/3 's of the way down.

I also have an ATI X800 (256 meg) Graphic card and when I update the graphic card, I only install the drivers w/o the CCC. I have tried versions 7.7, 7.8 and 7.9 of the ATI Drivers and my problem did not go away.

I am curious to why I was able to open MY DVD or MY DVD Express w/ software rendering. When I used hardware rendering, I received the Runtime R6025 error. Also I also rolled back WMP to V9 in one of my attempts to install Roxio EMC 10. I don't believe version 9 had video acceleration. This did not help.

Good Job lazer98 for finding a solution. It appears Roxio 10 and WMP have a conflict

I had a bad experience and I will wait a day or so before I will try this myself. I still can't figure out why I received the NTDR error & BSOD when I tried to do a repair install.

I'm wondering by shutting off video acceraleraton in wmp11, how WMP11 will now operate. Will it cause additional problem when you try to use wmp11.

I guess time will tell

I get the error when I try to use Photo Suite 10 :(
