thank you for your help.

is there any way to avoid the overscreen efect?

1. Plan for it in your projects. Use that overscan zone shading button. It looks like a box with cross-hairs, it has a smaller pink box inside.

2. Can your DVD player zoom out in small increments? That's what this person suggests:

But you can't depend on others' DVD player having this capability.

3. Never play the DVD on a TV set. Use an intro title warning the picture is only meant to be viewed on computers. For fun, put an FBI logo on the warning screen :)

I think that the problem is that the fame size broadcasted from a standart DVD may be larger then it should be. if so does any body has an adea how to overcome the problem?

Need to know how you did the capture… The capture device determines what the file consists of. It adjusts input to the desired output (file) based on the settings you use.

It has been awhile since I used V7 but I think this is available. Try using the video in the overlay track. Put a color panel in the main track (whatever color you want) and make it slightly longer than the video you are adding. Then add the video to the overlay track. You then have the ability to adjust the overlay to smaller than the color track (about 85%). When you look at the TV safe zone or it plays, you should see the whole video with just a little bit of the color panel showing. I don't remember if you do this on the main track or on the internal track. Try the internal track first. Now go back and trim the color panel to fit.

This is called overscan. We're stuck with it and have to plan our projects to avoid placing items into the overscan zone.

Roxio provides a little button that shades the overscan zone so you can avoid it. Look up "TV safe zone" in the Help Center.
