Cineplayer Dvd Problem - After A While Major Stutter

pearlste

Question

I have been having a big problem with Cineplayer, and I'd appreciate any help I can get.

I believe that I have the same problem with all DVD playing applications, but I bought and inststalled EMC 8, and now updated to 8.0.5, and the problem is still there.

When I play a DVD, it always starts out OK. Then after some period of time, which seems like a few minute, it goes into a mode where it will play for a second, or less, then pause for a few seconds, then repeat - play a little, pause a little more, etc. It will not get out of this mode.

If I close and then restart Cineplayer it will start with the major jerky stutter immediately!

After reboot a DVD will start to play OK again, for a limited time.

My Media Center Edition recordings (which are MPEG based, just like DVDs), play fine!

Only DVD playback seems to be broken.

There is very low CPU and RAM utilization shown in Task Manager when the video is stuttering - the problem is definitely not due to some application taking over the machine.

Thanks for any help!

Larry
